Item 8.01 Other Events.
On March 16, 2006, Quidel Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that it has entered into a strategic business partnership with Church & Dwight Co., Inc. in the area of women’s health for the over-the-counter market. In addition, the Company announced that it had entered into a cross-license and settlement agreement, dated March 10, 2006, settling the pending intellectual property litigation between the Company and Church & Dwight and cross-licensing certain patents related to lateral flow technology for the over-the-counter market. A copy of the Company’s press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 hereto.
