On November 30, 2007, the Board of Directors of Westlake Chemical Corporation (the “Company”) held a special meeting at which the board decided unanimously to fill a vacancy in the Class II directors of the Company by electing H. John Riley, Jr. as a member of the board, with a term to expire at the Company’s annual meeting of stockholders in 2009. Mr. Riley has been appointed to serve on the Audit Committee.
