Appointment of Principal Officers
Effective September 29, 2005, Jeffrey D. Buchanan was elected as a director of the board of
directors of Synaptics Incorporated (the “Company”). There were no arrangements or understandings
between Mr. Buchanan and any other persons pursuant to which Mr. Buchanan was selected as a
director of the Company.
