The Shenzhen Global Marine Economy Forum 2022 will be held 24-25 Nov in Shenzhen China

China Marine Economy Expo (referred to as "CMEE") is the only national marine economic exhibition in China. Building out of the success of the two editions after relocated to Shenzhen since 2019, the CMEE has made positive contributions to promoting the high-quality development of China's marine economy and promoting international marine economic exchanges and cooperation. The CMEE 2022 will be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (Futian District) from November 24th to 26th.

The Shenzhen Global Marine Economy Forum 2022, as the Strategic Forum of CMEE will be held from November 24th to 25th in Shenzhen, China. The forum will invites senior government officials and top business executives from relevant Chinese and international corporations, leaders from relevant international organizations, well renowned thought leaders and academic experts to have discussion related to marine technology, marine industry, shipping and transportation, marine civilization, marine cooperative governance, etc, in order to promote exchanges and cooperation among global ocean cities, accelerate the development of blue partnerships, as well as upgrade the high-quality development of the ocean economy, and create a global ocean center city with international competitiveness, attractiveness and creativity.

The forum will be hosted by China Oceanic Development Foundation, Global Ocean Capital Promotion Council of Shenzhen and  Yantian District People’s Government of Shenzhen, and organized by Shenzhen SEZ Construction and Development Group Co.,Ltd.

China Oceanic Development Foundation (CODF) was established with approval of the State Council of the People's Republic of China in December 2015. As an organization for public welfare, CODF's fundamental duty is to promote the Belt and Road Initiative, develop blue partnership and participate in global ocean governance.

In pursuit of its commitment, CODF has launched eight projects and ten actions including the action on "Ocean Decade", the action on Coastal Development Sustainability Report and the action on blue partnership development, which have attracted hundreds of organizations with over one million people around the world participating.

To make sure the smooth development of its eight projects and ten actions, CODF established five platforms, respectively the Marine Spatial Planning Academy, the International Blue Economy Alliance, the High-end Marine Think Tank, the Ecological Protection Partnership Action, and the Ocean Science Popularization Network, which have become a big stage for exchanges, cooperation and innovation.

With the support from Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, Global Ocean Capital Promotion Council of Shenzhen was registered on March 9, 2021. The council is a local non-profit social organization established by influential, appealing and credible groups, institutions, corporations and individuals from the fields of port shipping, marine engineering, marine electronic information, marine biology, marine energy and minerals, marine finance and law, marine education and scientific research, marine tourism and culture, marine ecology and security, etc.

With the vision of "Born by the sea with a Dream of Chasing Deep Blue ", the council has been upholding the concept of pragmatism, innovation, professionalism and efficiency. With its geographical advantages of Shenzhen and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the council is committed to becoming a platform for cooperation between government, enterprise and society.

Yantian District is located in the eastern part of Shenzhen City. In 2021, the regional GDP has reached to 76.049 billion yuan, and the per capita has reached to 354,000 yuan, ranking second in the city. The marine economy has become an important economic growth point for Yantian. Yantian has the world-class seaport which is the best space for cultivating emerging marine industries. At the same time, it also gathers a number of outstanding sea-related enterprises such as BGI, Yantian International and OCT Group, making Yantian District gradually become a strategic location for global marine center city construction.

In the future, Yantian will further promote industrial development and enhance innovation capabilities, in order to make every effort to build the core area of the global ocean center city and the Shatoujiao Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Tourism and Consumption Cooperation Zone. By 2025, the regional GDP will exceed 100 billion yuan, and the per capita GDP will exceed 400,000 yuan. Yantian District will become a high-quality, modern, international and innovative coastal district that is livable, business-friendly and travel-friendly.

Shenzhen SEZ Construction and Development Group Co., Ltd. is a municipal comprehensive investment and financing platform company established by the Shenzhen Municipal Government in August 2011 to accelerate the reform of the investment and financing system and promote the integration process of the Special Economic Zone.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the Group will adhere to the corporate mission of "leading the integration of industry, city, and people, and promoting the development of the modern city" and play the role of "four platforms": an operation platform for infrastructure investment and construction, an operation platform for technology park development, a comprehensive platform for marine industry development, a development platform for green companies.
