Morven's Fourth of July Jubilee Returns

By: PRLog

PRINCETON, N.J. - June 6, 2023 - PRLog -- Celebrate community with Morven Museum & Garden on Tuesday, July 4 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. when our Fourth of July Jubilee returns! In 1783, Morven hosted Congressional delegates celebrating Independence Day. 240 years later, the museum continues this tradition, utilizing our role as the home of a signer of the Declaration of Independence (and as New Jersey's first Governor's mansion) to engage the public in activities that explore our shared history and what it means to be an active citizen. Join Morven and our community partners for this free family-friendly event.

Activities include live music with the Ragtime Relics, food from Hotpanada and Kona Ice, a scavenger hunt, open archives, garden tours, and crafts and activities for the whole family. Visit stations hosted by the Paul Robeson House of Princeton, the Historical Society of Princeton, YWCA Princeton, League of Women Voters of the Greater Princeton Area, Revolution NJ, and the Princeton Public Library. On view for the day will be "A Prologue to the Chapters that Follow": Princeton and Paul Robeson, a traveling exhibition hosted in commemoration of what would have been Robeson's 125th birthday this year.

Attendees can also visit Morven's newest special exhibition, Striking Beauty: New Jersey Tall Case Clocks, 1730 - 1830, featuring over 50 tall case clocks, representing almost as many different clockmakers. Explore the five-gallery exhibition to see the most comprehensive look ever given to the ingenious work of New Jersey clockmakers. Museum tickets are $10 Adult General Admission, $8 for Seniors, Students with ID, Active Military with ID, Youth ages 7-18, and free for children under 7 and Morven Members. Families of 4 can purchase a group entry for $25. The Museum Gift Shop will also be open during the course of the event.

The 2023 Fourth of July Jubilee is sponsored by Baxter Construction. This is a good weather event only, please check our website if there is rain forecasted and for other updates.

Morven Museum & Garden, 55 Stockton St, Princeton, NJ is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
