Over 160 million Americans will shave with disposable razors in 2024 alone. Most will waste water trying to get them clean, waste time banging them against the sink or shower wall, or waste plastic by throwing them away when they get clogged— all problems that co-founders and former Naval Officers Matt Semple and Andy Camp faced while at sea on a US Guided Missile Destroyer.
“While deployed together in the Red Sea, the normal hassles with shaving were magnified. Our shared sink was a mess; weak water pressure couldn’t clean our razors, and we wasted limited fresh water,” says co-founder Matt Semple on the inspiration behind the project. “If we were having these issues shaving on a Navy ship, we couldn’t imagine the difficulty that those deployed in the field without access to a sink were having. We figured that a self-contained, manual device that can clean your razor with just 4 ounces of water would make a difference – both at home and in the field.”
After deployment, back at Naval Base San Diego, the founders got to work turning their idea into reality. The result is a product that will transform the way people shave.
