BeyGOOD, the esteemed charity founded by global icon Beyoncé, hosted an empowering and impactful luncheon on Friday, the 28th of July, in New York. The event, organized by BeyGOOD's dedicated team, gathered attendees from various industries, including Trent Griffin-Braaf, the CEO & Founder of Tech Valley Shuttle and GB Logistics.
BeyGOOD is well-known for its commitment to creating positive change in communities worldwide. One of its notable initiatives, the Black Parade Route, focuses on visiting the ten largest cities on Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour to promote access to education, scholarships, and opportunities for minorities and women in institutions and colleges. Beyoncé has also dedicated $1 million to small businesses struggling from financial inequality, which is to be distributed over the course of several Black Parade Route Small Business Luncheons. At each luncheon, ten businesses are selected to receive grants of $10,000.
Trent Griffin-Braaf, a prominent figure in the small business world, attended the New York luncheon as a distinguished guest. His primary goal is to tackle poverty by developing innovative transportation solutions while simultaneously lifting up his employees. Drawing from his own experience as a formerly incarcerated individual, he is leading the charge in setting an example for other employers to become a preferred choice for hiring formerly incarcerated individuals, single parents, and veterans, thus promoting inclusivity and giving them a chance to thrive in the workforce.
During the event, Trent witnessed firsthand BeyGOOD’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and mission-driven organizations. Over 100 entrepreneurs with mission-driven businesses were present, each playing a crucial role in creating a more equitable playing field for minority communities. These entrepreneurs were connected to vital resources, including venture capital groups, Mastercard, Goldman Sachs, and various business teaching programs.
The luncheon featured a special guest speaker, Beyoncé's personal financial advisor, who shared valuable insights on building and sustaining a successful business. Moreover, an impressive sum of $125,000 in grant money was awarded to support entrepreneurs in their impactful endeavors.
The event's program included a lunch and captivating performance, creating a perfect setting for networking and fostering meaningful connections among like-minded individuals.
