DITP’s roadshow at the American Film Market 2024 is expected to generate over 23 million USD for the Thai film industry.

The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, will support 12 leading Thai film and television companies as they attend the American Film Market (AFM) 2024. Confident in the high quality of Thai productions and services, the DITP expects revenue generated through their participation to exceed 800 million Baht (approx. 23 million USD). AFM, the largest film and content marketplace in the United States, will take place from November 5-10, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), as a Thai government agency, is dedicated to supporting the global growth of Thailand’s entertainment industry, in line with the government’s strategy to boost international trade through creative industries and high-potential service sectors. Film is one of 11 target industries under the Soft Power policy, recognized for its potential to enhance the country's competitiveness and significantly boost economic value.

The American Film Market is one of the four largest film industry events in the world, attracting more than 8,500 professionals from over 80 countries each year. More than 300 exhibitors from around the world participate, including those from the United States, Italy, France, the UK, and South Korea, along with over 30 national film commissions. The event offers a variety of opportunities to advance and promote the industry, such as business meetings, film screenings, seminars, and networking receptions. The DITP has consistently supported Thai participation in the American Film Market for many years.

In 2024, the American Film Market will take place in Las Vegas for the first time, moving from its previous venue in Santa Monica, California. The DITP has selected 12 Thai companies to attend and participate in business matching activities aimed at creating new business opportunities and expanding access to global markets. This is also a chance to showcase the strength and preparedness of Thailand’s film and content industry. The American Film Market will bring together over 1,000 film production companies, distributors, and investors from around the world, creating numerous business opportunities. Overall, deals and investments at the event are expected to exceed 1 billion US dollars.

For the Thai entrepreneurs selected to participate in this year’s event, a total of 12 companies were chosen. These include 7 companies in film, television series, and animation production and distribution, such as Halo Productions Co., Ltd., M Distribution Co., Ltd., Night Edge Pictures Corporation Co., Ltd., T&B Media Global (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Thongkham Films Co., Ltd., Tifa Studios Co., Ltd., and Yggdrazil Group Public Co., Ltd., and with 5 production and post-production service providers, such as Acts Studio Co., Ltd., Benetone Films Co., Ltd., Film Frame Productions Co., Ltd., Kantana Post Production (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and Locman2011 Co., Ltd.
