B2B Marketing Budgets Surge to 5% of Revenue and Teams Grow by 26%

Propolis from B2B Marketing Unveils Key B2B Marketing Trends in New Report and Real-Time Dashboards

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / July 25, 2024 / Marketing budgets are back up. That's just one of the findings from the latest data in The Community Index - the real-time B2B marketing dashboard available to members of the marketing community, Propolis.

The Index demonstrates that budgets have surged from 2% as a percentage of revenue target to 5%. Whilst more data is to come, this suggests that B2B marketers are having more to work with this year, but also have greater expectations to drive revenue like never before.

Key findings from the new report titled "Marketing Budgets Have Increased, But How Are They Being Spent?" include:

  • Increased Budgets: Marketing budgets now account for 5% of revenue targets compared to just 2% in the previous year.

  • Strategic Shifts: There is a marked increase in investment in technology and third-party services, reflecting a move towards more sophisticated marketing tactics.

  • Growing Teams: Marketing teams have grown by an average of 26% this year, highlighting the increasing reliance on skilled marketing professionals.

  • Data-Driven Focus: Marketers are spending more time on research and analysis, emphasizing a shift towards data-driven decision-making.

"The last four years have not exactly been easy for B2B marketers. The pandemic accelerated the global digital transformation of business, and, all the while, we've been under pressure to do more with less in a struggling economy. The great news is that marketers have been able to start proving their impact like never before. This latest data from The Propolis Community Index is hugely encouraging because it demonstrates that marketers are finally getting more money to work with, and greater responsibility for driving revenue," said David Rowlands, Head of Product, Propolis.

These insights are drawn from the newly enhanced Propolis Community Index dashboards, launched in August 2023. These real-time dashboards compile monthly data from B2B marketing teams across the US and UK, providing a comprehensive and dynamic view of market trends. Key features of the updated dashboards include:

  • Real-time Data Updates: Continuous data collection ensures the most current market insights.

  • Detailed Year-on-Year Comparisons: Understand shifts in budgets, strategies, team sizes, and more.

  • Benchmarking Capabilities: Compare your metrics against industry standards.

Propolis members can access these new dashboards directly, while non-members can book a demo to explore the full capabilities. The accompanying report is also available for download via the link here.

A webinar held in June 2024 provides an in-depth overview of these findings and can be watched on-demand here.
