Driving Change – Meet ADV Tennis, a new and coach founded tennis brand that’s modernizing traditional tennis gear for today’s players

By: Get News

Tennis is having a moment. Many picked up the sport over the pandemic (+27.9% between 2019 and 2021*), and participation continues to grow amid this jolt. Perhaps it’s the lure of an active sport enjoyed by many generations with built-in social distancing. Or, maybe, the excitement from recent social conversations brought on by Netflix’s release of Break Point. Or, perhaps it’s the Australian Open matches with greats like Novak Djokovic that are creating a contagious energy. For one tennis company founder, Lavie Sak, this electric spirit from the sport is very familiar. As a player, former coach, and engineer, Lavie and his team have been modernizing traditional tennis gear by focusing on what’s important to the tennis community. When asked what he’s most excited for, Sak responds,“Change. Rethinking what no longer serves us in the game.”

Sak is the founder of ADV Tennis — an engineered performance brand for players that value function and sleek design. Since founding ADV, Lavie has donated 5% of profits to organizations, across the globe, with aspiring players that have limited financial resources. He also partners with “Challengers,” or pros outside of the highest elite levels struggling to make ends meet. His hope: to get more people (from all backgrounds) to play the sport, changing the makeup of a game, often criticized for lack of diversity.

“Tennis is a game that teaches you lifelong skills. For many players, unfortunately, it’s unobtainable without having true means. Talent alone isn’t enough,” shares Sak.

In a few short years since launching ADV, the brand has become part of tennis conversations, is a top seller on a big box e-commerce site, and last year, took off with the launch of its first tennis bag, the Jet Pack Pro (which repeatedly sold out).

The company’s biggest release will be this March, during the Indian Wells Tournament. ADV will take the DNA of its successful Pro bag and launch the Jetpack Backpack, available for early adopters through Kickstarter.

As a “tennis nerd” with a background in engineering and design, Sak and his team dove into the bag's utility to make it “distraction and frustration-free.”

“We all know tennis is mostly mental — as a player, I have enough to think of while on the court; my equipment should not be on that list. Most of the tennis community shares this sentiment,” found Sak, “we really took this to heart when creating this and all of our products.”

The new ADV Jetpack Backpack will feature:

-  A built-in cooler that fits multiple drinks as well as an ice pack.
-  Racket compartment with an optional cape that fits up to 3 rackets
-  Hooks to attach to tennis court fences
-  Fully opening main compartment - ideal for overnight trips
-  Weatherproof, rugged materials that protects in all conditions
-  Next level organization that includes hidden and soft lined compartments
-  Flat bottom design to stand up straight on the court

ADV Tennis will begin a crowdfunding campaign, through Kickstarter, to drive the launch of the new backpack. More information on ADV Tennis can be found at www.advtennis.pro, along with video review of products on their YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@advtennispro8271
