USCIS conducts an additional lottery session for specialty occupation visas

PASADENA, Calif. - August 12, 2024 - As the United States Citizen and Immigration Service (USCIS) announced the completion of its quota of entries for the coveted H-1B for fiscal year 2025, Day1 CPT Universities announced that it is providing legal assistance to selected applicants. Day1 CPT Universities will offer free application assistance to applicants not selected in the H1B Lottery. During the second round, UCIS selected 13,607 beneficiaries.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service held this second lottery for H-1B specialty occupation visas “to reach the regular cap from the remaining, properly submitted, Fiscal Year 2025 registrations,” according to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service. The agency had previously released a statement that the annual advanced degree exemption quota, known as the “master’s cap,” had already been reached.

According to the agency, it restricts annual H-1B visas to 85,000 for each fiscal year. 20,000 of these coveted visas are allocated under the “advanced degree exemption” for recipients who have completed a U.S. master's degree or higher.

These new selections were chosen from those already in the registration pool submitted for the March 2024 H1-B period. According to USCIS, “All registrations selected in the second lottery were taken from the full registration pool, which included BOTH those eligible only for the ‘regular cap’ and those eligible for the ‘masters cap.’ This second lottery was not conducted only for beneficiaries eligible under the advanced degree exemption.”

“For those who applied and were selected in the H-1B visa lottery, Day1 CPT Universities will work with immigration attorneys across the United States, offering an exceptionally reasonable price, based on bundling legal services,” said a spokesperson for Day1 CPT Universities. “We have arranged for a low legal fee of $2,000 for the H-1B application and RFE.” For those who were not get selected, Day1 CPT Universities will help foreign students apply for alternative USA graduate programs, to extend their legal stays in America.
