NSI Guyana’s Green Nail Salon Lunch & Learn, promoting sustainable beauty practices, achieved sold-out success, inspiring widespread eco-friendly changes in Guyana’s beauty industry.

Georgetown, Guyana - In a landmark event on November 6, 2024, hosted at the Ramada Princess Georgetown, NSI Nails Guyana (“NSI Guyana”), alongside strategic partners Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Guyana and the 25 Influential Women Leaders Award, celebrated the tremendous success of the inaugural Green Nail Salon Lunch & Learn. The sold-out event drew nail salon owners, beauty professionals, and eco-conscious clients, underscoring a shared commitment to sustainable practices within the beauty industry.

Ms. Lexann McPhoy, Managing Director of NSI Guyana, opened the event, acknowledging the support of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Guyana and the 25 Influential Women Leaders Award, along with other women business owners. • Ms. Teerandai Haripersaud of the Yoga Hub: Closed the conference with chair yoga and wellness exercises for beauty professionals.

Community Impact:

The event not only shared valuable knowledge but also inspired participants to adopt and advocate for sustainable practices, demonstrating a strong community drive towards environmental stewardship. Ms. McPhoy noted “The participants were unaware of the results of recent global nail technician health studies and the negative health impact from nail products that are not developed based on best practices. Encouraged by the success, NSI Guyana is already planning a 3-Day Green Nail Salon Conference scheduled for March 2025, aiming to further cement sustainability in the beauty sector.
