“Top Gun: Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski shared that bringing back the female characters played by Meg Ryan (Carole Bradshaw) and Kelly McGillis (Charlotte "Charlie" Blackwood) from the 1986 movie was never considered for the 2022 sequel.
