The newly announced women’s empowerment event brings together Atlanta's most prominent names to unite under the Optimistic People Unified for Awareness (OPUA) slogan. Participants are encouraged to speak their truths about the burdens placed on women, or those who identify as women, and discuss the inequity still experienced by women of color today.

Reed shares that her latest event honors this year’s International Women’s Day using the “#EmbraceEquity” theme. As the founder and board chair of the Future Health NOW Foundation, she is committed to improving the well-being of underprivileged communities, particularly women of color facing any sort of discrimination.

The event will take place at the Rich Hart Global Studios in Atlanta, GA on March 8, 2023, and begin at 5:00 pm (EST). It is expected to last three hours and includes dinner and a panel discussion. Aside from talks led by Reed and other guests on prioritizing self-care, the importance of equal pay, and embracing equity, the event will also feature a live performance by vocalist Ashley Register and aerialist India Ayo.

Shavonne Reed is a global inspirational keynote speaker who works with business professionals to overcome their low expectations. She believes that all people, regardless of color, gender, or age, should be able to thrive in a culture of wellness. Specifically, she works with women of color to help them develop self-love, strengthen self-discipline, build emotional intelligence, and practice mindfulness.

She started the Future Health NOW Foundation to inspire and empower 1,000,000 African American girls to become more confident and live in more harmony in their homes to preserve future health. She promotes the Future Health movement through her marketing firm OPUA Agency, a social impact marketing collective.

The new event is family-friendly and open to anyone of any age. Regardless, Reed asks that all participants should be able to sit quietly for more than an hour to make sure all participants can enjoy the event

An event spokesperson says, "Our collective activism will champion change from grassroots to wide-scale momentum; we will forge positive change, harmony and unity as we value and support our differences."
